If you travel by plane, the nearest airport is Split Airport.
The airport shuttle bus takes you directly to Split port where you can take your hydrofoil or ferry to the island of Hvar; there are also taxis at your disposal.
(approx. 45 minutes ride).

There is a small port 500 meters from the airport, where one can be picked up by a exclusive taxi boat service which brings you directly to Palmižana.

Alternatively, you can fly into Zagreb, and there are reasonable bus connections and very slow rail connections to Split.
There is also a small airport at Starigrad, in the north of the island (25 minutes' drive away from Hvar town), where private flights land.
